About

Liad Baniel is an art director, graphic designer, artist and photographer. His work explores immediacy in visual communication and the psychology of perception.

Baniel enrolled at the School of Visual Arts' Graphic Design department, and graduated with honors in 2004. That year, Baniel opened LB Studio, and focused his practice on design for a variety of creative industries, including entertainment, fine art, theater, music, fashion, activism and publishing. Clients from that period include Simon & Schuster, Nike USA, Harper Collins, BadBoy Records, Jocky USA, as well as several boutique firms and businesses.

In 2005, Baniel assumed the position of art director at SCOPE International Contemporary Art fair, and helped transform this once small initiative into a major force in the art-world.

From 2009 Baniel has been working as a design consultant for Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, National Academy Museum, McCann Worldgroup, Havas Media and others.

In 2017 Baniel accepted the position of Art Director at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, where he has been leading an effort to refresh this renowned cultural icon’s brand.
